What a study costs
A completed study pays the $25.00 study fee plus its tokens at $4.00 per million, every token alike. A token is about four characters. Roughly 2.0 M tokens go into any study whatever its size, because the indicator readings, the synthesis and its challenge, the report and its verification read the same computed material; about 122 thousand more go into each page, read once to convert it, again for each statement class and again to re-read contested figures. As a rule of thumb, fee included: about $33 a study plus about 49¢ a page. Typical studies, at the prices above:

What Research costs
The same credits, the same token rate
Research draws on the same credits at the same per-token rate, with no study fee, metered per question. Every question re-reads the study’s report, findings and figures and the pages it needs to cite, so the cost follows how much it has to read; the answer itself is a few thousand tokens.

Six years instead of two
The same session on six annual reports (437 pages) is about $245 for the study, and the same Research on top. Cost follows the pages, never the number of questions you are entitled to.
Why a small study is not tiny
A 22-page information memorandum is about $44: most of a study’s reading is the analysis itself, not the pages, and every study gets all of it.
Before the run
The review step shows the estimate for this study and your balance after it. Nothing runs until you confirm, and the study-size limit (12 documents, 600 pages) is checked there too.
During and after
The running page shows spend as it happens, phase by phase. The activity ledger records every run and every Research question with its tokens and cost.
Your money
Credits are valid for 6 months from the top-up and are not refundable. A run in progress always completes, even if it takes your balance below zero; new studies, the report and Research then wait for a top-up. Receipts for every top-up; a monthly statement for your accounts. Lynx sets the study fee and the per-token rate and publishes them here; they change with notice, never mid-run.
Before you give us a card
You do not need one to start. There is no subscription to cancel: remove your card at any time from Credits & billing; your studies, reports and research threads stay readable, and whatever credits remain stay usable.
Where your files go
Stored in Singapore (asia-southeast1), your files in your own private bucket. Analysed on infrastructure in United States. Never used to train AI models. Purged 30 days after the report unless you keep them.
